Mark Batteiger Brings Some Dynamic Lessons
From September 24th through the 30th, 2017 the Valley church was blessed with a series of Bible lessons from Mark Batteiger. Mark and his sweet wife Candy were visiting us from Minot, North Dakota. Mark is the current preacher at the Minot church of Christ. He has been a preacher and school educator for over 26 years. We got to know the Batteigers through Rick Collins and had heard many good things about his passionate and careful way he taught the Bible.
We invited Mark to teach the Valley congregation on a series of topics under the heading of Reaching and Keeping the Next Generation. He brought us six powerful and practical lessons. The schedule included two lessons on Sunday and one each evening Monday to Wednesday. At our request, Mark included a special Saturday morning class to give our Bible class teachers some useful tools to improve our education program. The lesson titles were:
- Let’s Take a Test
- The Great Commission
- Your Child’s Worldview
- It’s All About Motivation – the Bible Way
- Learn, Teach, Live The Story
- Practice Does Not Make Perfect
Mark is very careful to teach the Bible faithfully as God has given it to us. But he also teaches with an energy and flair that keeps the listeners focused and motivated to learn. The lessons were very practical and useful to students of all ages. Mostly, the lessons are helping us build faith in our congregation to have a strong and healthy church body into the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed Mark and Candy visiting us. Their loving service to God’s church is obvious as we got to know them. Our prayers for them are that God will guide and use them to bring energetic quality and practical lessons from God’s Word to many others for many years to come.
